    Taifo Surf Point(太東サーフスポット)   The surf point is located in the southernmost tip in Kujukurihama and is famous as one of the birthplaces of Japanese surfing together with Shonan and Kamogawa areas. When the south swell is too strong because of a typhoon, the points like Ichinomiya and Torami are closed out (meaning no surfing possible due to big waves and strong winds.) But in Taito the cape and the fishing port in south suppress the wave size good for surfing.   Usually waves here are smaller than those at the other points in the neighborhood. Especially near the sea embankment, the wave is small enough for beginners or long boarders.
